An Update

It has been over a year since my last post. I used to be such a good journal writer. Back when I had absolutely nothing to say I would say it in pages. Now some of my most precious memories remain just that, memories that can so easily be forgotten or misremembered. I love Russ and my children, and their children. They are such wonderful and good people. Since my last post the places we've been have included the baseball trip of Russ and I to LA to see the Dodgers and Angels. I felt like I was at a home game when we watched the Angels since so many of the players had been in Utah. I've since become an Angel's Fan. Mike Trout certainly has a lot to do with that as well. That was a fun trip. Short, but such a great get away. We spent part of one day at the Balboa Island and beach. It is another world down there and so relaxing. We also spent a short weekend up in Yellowstone for our anniversary. We drove to Gardner and drove into the park ourselves, as well as a half day tour to Norris Geyser Basin. It was so gorgeous and wonderful. I wrote a trip report on Tripadvisor about it. Jesse moved to Hawaii where he is working on the cruise ship Pride of America. He worked so hard to get there, I hope it is a good experience for him. I was trying to let this be my Big Year for birds so I went to Delta for the snow geese festival and finally caught the geese flying in and realized what a wonder that is. Then Russ and I went to Kearney Nebraska for the Sandhill Crane migration. That was fantastic! truly a sight to see once in a life at least. I was trying to prepare for a grand canyon hike with my friends, but just couldn't do it this time. I got all the way down there and finally accepted that it wouldn't be a good thing for me to do. I had a great trip on the way back though, taking my time, not planning what to do next until I was done with whatever I was doing. It was one of the best things I've done for myself in along time. We had our family reunion in Park City at the Marriott, and that was fun if a little hectic. Then I've been planning our baseball trip for this year. We are doing the three teams in Chicago and Milwaukee with a week in Wisconsin in between. Staying at a VRI timeshare on the Wisconsin River. I have had lots of fun planning it and am really looking forward to it. Well, that is the trips. Yesterday Troy got married. A year ago he was fighting for his life. He is a miracle for sure.
